Leah, one of our awesome fans, also known as ProfessorSpork, one of my favorite YouTubers, posted basically our entire live set from the wizard rock show on November 18, 2007 in Philadelphia, PA at the First Unitarian Church! Check it outttt. To watch it on YouTube, click here for the whole playlist. Leah’s video descriptions are amusing.
You can also view them embedded on our MySpace profile!
So this is pretty cool that we were mentioned. MTV did an end of the year Top 10 list and they have a wizard rock list!
1. Switchblade Kittens
2. Harry and the Potters
3. The Parselmouths
4. The Remus Lupins
5. Ministry of Magic
6. Draco and the Malfoys
7. The Moaning Myrtles
9. The Owl Post
10. The Whomping Willows
I’m not a fan of the whole ranking thing and they obviously know almost nothing about wizard rock, but it’s nice of them to put us on the list. Here are my thoughts on the subject:
Two years ago, on Nov 27, 2005 we were walking to the parking lot from our high school and decided to start a band called The Moaning Myrtles. Here’s a video I made listing all of the shows we’ve played since then. We’ve changed a lot in two years and we’ve done some pretty amazing things because of this band.
Thank you for all of the love and support! We love you guys so much. We couldn’t have done all this without you. Harry Potter fans are just the most amazing people ever and we can’t thank you enough. Here’s to many more years of wizard rocking!
So this year, I’m playing my Lauren without Nina solo Myrtles set at the PA Yule Ball! Nina’s going to be playing Queenie in The Wild Party at her college that night. But this show is going to be crazy and you should definitely get your tickets now because space is extremely limited. Other details will be announced soon!
